Saïan Supa Celebration
- Sunday
The Saïan Supa Crew dates back to 1997 in the suburbs of Paris, telling the story of a team of rap geniuses—not from the edges of the universe, but straight out of Île-de-France. Blending beatboxing, dancehall, rap, soul, and reggae, the group tackled deep themes like drug use, racism, gender relations, suicide, and violence. In 1999, the Parisian collective soared to fame with Angela, a track from their album KLR, dedicated to one of their late members. Twenty-five years later, like a fine wine that gets better with time, the group has been reborn as Saïan Supa Celebration to honor the legacy of a collective that left an indelible mark on French rap history. Their message remains as powerful as ever: a deep passion for music and hip-hop, along with a commitment to passing on the cultural legacy they’ve both inherited and helped shape.
