The greener, the better
The core value of Couleur Café is respect, and that of course includes respecting our planet. Every year, we commit on a whole range of levels in finding new ways to protect the Osseghem park, reducing our carbon footprint and positively influencing public behavior towards long-term sustainability.
This year, we took a major step by letting Tapio calculating the carbon footprint of Couleur Café 2023. In the spirit of transparency, we are excited to share the results with you here. These results reflect sustained efforts to significantly reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. Our ultimate ambition is to bring the festival as close as possible to carbon neutrality, and every year, we commit to doing everything in our power to achieve this ideal. To this end, several initiatives have been implemented. Discover them all here.

To this end, several initiatives have been implemented. Discover them all here.
However, we do wish to put a spotlight on one of them and that is UNDO, the main sustainability sponsor for Couleur Café 2024! Together, we aim to reduce and compensate the carbon footprint of every festival-goer and make a positive impact on our planet.
Reduce carbon footprint, yes, but how?
Every visitor at Couleur Café emits around 7 kg of CO2e from their visit. Here are a few examples of how our activities at the festival contribute to emissions and how we plan to reduce them:
- Veg or Non-Veg Snacks:
Did you know that eating a Non-Veg meal has an average emission of 3.12 Kg CO2e, 6 times more than a veggie meal?
- Traveling to the Venue:
Did you know that travel by car emits approximately 50% more CO2e emission than traveling by public transportation? Reduce your emissions by taking the train at half price or bus, tram and metro for free!
How to compensate?
We can't achieve these goals without your help! Throughout the festival grounds – at the Rue Du Bien Manger, trash bins, bars, and entry points – you'll find UNDO QR codes. Here's what you need to help:
- Scan the QR Code
- Complete the Form by filling in the details about your stay at the festival
- Hit "Compensate": Submit the form to contribute to our sustainability efforts
By compensating your CO2 emissions, you will support our initiative to provide safe, clean drinking water in Mozambique. Therefore, you're not just enjoying the festival – you're making a real difference.
